HPC offers a combined SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness and SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness to develop industry-ready personal trainers.

We offer the leading fitness course in Australia via three different study methods to cater for different student’s needs. The On-campus course operates from our incredible, purpose built facility on the Gold Coast. Plus, a Blended Study method which combines the convenience of online study, with the benefits of hands on practical learning on campus. And finally a Distance Education option allowing Australia wide students access to HPC’s advanced training methods through a combination of online videos, HPC’s Virtual Classroom and a practical work placement.

Course Length

12 weeks face to face. 8.30am – 4.30pm

The course has a flexible structure and students have 12 months to complete all assignments. The course includes a face to face component of 24 full days attendance at the HPC training facility (or equivalent visits equalling 182 hours), which is not flexible & is compulsory.

HPC’s Blended Study method incorporates the same elite level education for you to study at your own pace whenever it suits.

Online Component

The theory component of your Personal Training course will be delivered through online videos which you can watch from anywhere. Study at you own pace, anytime - with online support from our Head Lecturer.

Practical Component

Your practical component is completed at HPC’s incredible centre on the Gold Coast. You will learn the latest training methods from HPC’s expert lectures over a 13 week study block. Usually students attend HPC one day per week.

Course Length

The blended study option is self paced online study with on-campus practical training assessments, a blended student is required to attend HPC’s training facility for the practical training outlined in the ‘Practical Assessment Completion Form’ . All students have 12 months to complete their course and 12 months access to the online content.

Distance Education

Distance Education gives you the ability to study from the comfort of your own home – anywhere in Australia! The theory components of the course will be delivered through online videos. Practical demonstrations will be delivery in HPC’s Virtual Classroom, filmed inside our very own HPC Student Gym, released each week. Followed by a work placement where you put everything you have learnt into practice. You will have 12 months to complete your course.

Online Component

The theory component of your Personal Training course will be delivered through online videos which you can watch from anywhere. Study at you own pace, anytime - with online support from our Head Lecturer.

Virtual Classroom

Step into our Virtual Classroom for practical demonstrations, you will learn from our highly experienced lecturer, with practical demonstrations that have been filmed inside our very own HPC Student Gym released to our Distance Education students each week. Don’t worry if you can’t watch it straight away – it’s available to watch for 7 days, so you can watch it at a time that suits you.

Practical Placement

This is where you put everything you have learnt into practice, you will work alongside a mentor at a fitness facility to complete 50 hours of supervised work. This can either be your local gym or a facility we find for you.

Course Length

This option provides the Student with the opportunity to complete the theory component of their course online while being able to attend lessons with our Lecturers via HPC’s Virtual Classroom. The student will also be required to complete 50 hours of practical experience under the guidance of a Certificate IV in Fitness qualified mentor in an approved facility. A “Distance Education” student is required to complete the required assessments for the practical training outlined in the ‘Practical Assessment Completion Form’ under the guidance of their mentor.

Head Trainer

Edward Hayward

Edward has been the Head Trainer / Assessor at Human Performance Centre since 2010. HPC’s Gold Coast Campus has been certifying elite personal trainers since 2006.

After realising he felt a great sense of accomplishment educating clients as a Personal Trainer; he made the shift to Trainer / Assessor and has been blessed to work in such a positive industry.

Edward has successfully facilitated this Nutrition Course at our Gold Coast Campus for many years and is thrilled to now be able to teach even more students his extensive knowledge through our online platform.
