Seriously though, if we don’t have vision for our lives we’re going nowhere fast; & if we don’t love what we’re doing, what’s the point of even showing up?
For too many years I showed up to a job that I didn’t love. Mind you, I didn’t hate it either; it was a good job, paid great, & I was looked after by the business owners better than I’ve ever been looked after by any bosses. However, the job role itself wasn’t what I wanted to be doing with my life, & I knew that I couldn’t just stay in a job because I loved the owners – that wasn’t fair to them, & it wasn’t fair to me. I remember speaking to my boss on my final day & her words will stay with me forever:
“You were a wonderful asset to us here & you’ll be missed dearly; however, you will achieve far greater things where you are going, than what you ever would have here, because you’ll be doing what you love.”
She was right.
Nothing beats waking up every day, bouncing out of bed with anticipation for what the day holds, & knowing that you have made the choices & done the work in order to do what you love every single day.
Do you love what you do?
